WHAT WE DO

Ammonium Sulfate

An ideal fertilizer providing both nitrogen and sulfur. Ammonia sulfate (commonly known as ammonium sulfate) is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula (NH₄)₂SO₄.

It is produced by the reaction of sulfuric acid with ammonia. It is a white, crystalline fertilizer that is easily soluble in water and exhibits acidic properties.

Ammonium Sulfate

Important Features

  • • It contains 21% Nitrogen (N) and 24% Sulfur (S).
  •
  • • Nitrogen is in the ammonium (NH₄⁺) form and is retained in the soil, with less loss through leaching.

  •
  • •The sulfur content is important for meeting the sulfur requirement, a secondary nutrient for plants.

  •
  • •It has a pH-lowering (acidifying) effect on soil pH. Therefore, while suitable for alkaline (limestone) soils, it should be used cautiously in acidic soils.

Ammonium Sulfate

Main areas of use in Turkey

Agriculture and Fertilization

This is its most common application. It is particularly preferred for plants that require both nitrogen and sulfur. It is ideal for sulfur-sensitive plants such as potatoes, tea, corn, cotton, onions, garlic, legumes, and fruit trees.

Water Purification

Used as an ammonia source in chloramine disinfection in wastewater treatment plants.

Food Industry

E220 is a food additive (regulator) used as a yeast nutrient in flour and bread production. It is also a fermentation aid in some beverages.
